Captured Leader in Lords Mobile: which bonuses still work?

Bars over the portrait do not disable every boost. Read IGG's answer, the deployed-boost exception and why older guides may contradict it.

The hero skill activation guide explains why a bonus's condition matters. It matters when your Leader is captured too: Lords Mobile's guide does not support the claim that every boost disappears. Some remain active, while IGG names a specific exception.

Bars on the portrait do not answer the bonus question

The Leader is the hero appointed to lead your Turf. The archived game screen below shows a captured Leader: bars cover the portrait, the captor appears on the right and Awaits Execution identifies the status. Captivity and an execution that has already occurred are different states. This article concerns captivity.

The image shows a timer of 16:43:09 and a ransom of 60,000,000. They belong to this particular example, rather than establishing general release conditions. The screen identifies captivity, but does not itself show which boosts are active. That requires the mechanics description. Open the original game screen.

What IGG keeps active

In the official Game Guide, open New Player Guide and find the question about how a captured Leader affects the account. The answer lists three groups that remain: Talents, Equipment and the hero's Battle Skills. The exception is deployed boosts, which depend on the hero participating in the deployed army. These are inactive during captivity.

Talents are the selected boosts in the Leader's Talent tree. Equipment means the stat-bearing items worn by the Leader. Battle Skills are a separate group of hero abilities whose activation conditions must be read individually. Battle in the name does not itself mean that every such skill requires deployment.

IGG answer stating that deployed boosts are inactive during Leader captivity while the other listed bonuses remain
IGG guide checked October 11, 2026: the answer explicitly identifies the deployed exception. Original page screenshot with unchanged wording and interface.

It is easy to overgeneralize in either direction. A captured Leader means no bonuses is too broad. All boosts work exactly as before is also wrong because it loses the deployed exception. Check the particular effect's condition before applying the guide's answer to your battle. Open IGG's original answer.

Why older advice can contradict the guide

This was not a new October 2026 mechanic. In the June 2020 update, IGG already stated that Leader boosts remain during captivity except for deployed boosts. The accompanying FAQ specifically listed Talents, Equipment and Battle Skills. The same answer was present in the Game Guide when checked on October 11, 2026.

Advice therefore needs a date and context. If a guide tells you to stop all Turf development until the Leader returns, first check whether it accounts for this change. A recent date beside an old text does not establish that the mechanics were rechecked.

Checks before your next action

Identify the Leader's state first. This guide does not extend captivity rules to execution or other states. If your screen shows another status, do not automatically apply the answer above.

Find the specific bonus next. Name the effect needed for construction, research or battle, then read its activation condition. Do not postpone an action solely because of portrait bars, but do not treat that portrait as your only readiness check before attacking either.

Inspect the final duration before using speed-ups. That checks your actual queue in the account's current state. It is more useful than a guess based on an old video: retaining a group of boosts does not promise identical durations across all levels, gear sets and tasks.

If the capture followed a defeated Castle, assess troop losses separately. The recovery after being zeroed guide covers recovery and troop-return queues. Leader boosts that remain active do not replace that check.
