Crafting that will not count: Lords Mobile's Craft Gear quest

Craft Gear requires the Lunar Foundry. Read IGG's clarification, distinguish the quest's reward from its workload and calculate what remains before spending speed-ups.

You see Craft Gear on the Guild Fest board and expect to finish it by forging a few inexpensive pieces of equipment. First check which kind of crafting it means. This quest requires the Lunar Foundry. IGG clarified the requirement in the version history for update 2.197. Making a helmet in the Workshop is a different production process.

The word gear adds to the confusion: it can refer to conventional equipment or to the product of a separate building. Check the Foundry's name and the quest's item rather than guessing the action from a familiar word.

What the update clarified

In Lords Mobile's official version history, update 2.197 dated July 1, 2026 says a note was added to Gear Crafting quests explaining that the Lunar Foundry must be unlocked. This was an added interface clarification; the entry does not say that the Foundry became a requirement for the first time that July.

An old tip about crafting ordinary equipment cannot therefore be applied to this quest merely because the wording sounds similar. Open its details before accepting it. If the required Foundry is still locked, an attractive points reward does not make the quest accessible.

Three numbers on the screen mean different things

Below is an archived game screen from Gamerlens's July 14, 2022 article. It helps explain how to read the quest, but it does not replace today's board: check the reward, required quantity and deadline in your own client.

In this example, +255 is the Guild Fest reward, while 25,000 / 192,000 shows completed and required Craft Gear production. The timer limits the completion period. The large denominator is not a Gem price. A high contribution to the guild does not by itself tell you how long production will take on your account.

Calculate the remainder, then open the Foundry

The second original screen shows Luminous Gear production: the selected quantity, resources, speed bonus and two ways to start. Output quantity and queue duration are different values. You need both, taken from your own account, to assess the quest.

Check the arithmetic using the values in these archived screens. The remaining target is 192,000 − 25,000 = 167,000. If a full batch produces 5,000, then 33 batches produce 165,000, leaving a shortfall of 2,000. Counting only full batches, you need 34. Check separately whether your production window allows a smaller final batch.

This illustrates a method, rather than a current quest table. For a new quest, use its remaining target and your available batch size. Compare the production time with the time left. Do not multiply someone else's instant-completion price by your quantity: the original duration and selected amount may differ.

When the quest actually suits you

A suitable quest produces something you need and fits your prepared resource and time budget. Unlocking the Foundry answers the access question; it does not yet establish that you can finish on time.

Before accepting, follow this sequence: quest requirement → Foundry access → quantity → time → compatible speed-ups. Check the last point in this specific production window: the total speed-ups in your bag do not tell you which can shorten the chosen queue.

If you have already accepted the quest and time is running short, recalculate the remaining quantity and check the actual cost of the available options first. Decide whether to spend more Gems based on what doing so would gain from this point onward. Work already completed does not by itself make continuing worthwhile.

For guild planning, a useful report states that your Foundry is unlocked, how much production remains and when you can finish. That describes a feasible contribution more clearly than promising to take a high-points quest. A short clarification in the quest card can save more attention than another list of supposedly easy quests.
