Chasing Megatron: two tokens and the Lords Mobile 40% trap

Read the September Transformers Raceway mechanics: 120 Megatron Portraits in a recorded game screen, two different badges and shops that are easy to confuse.

Transformers Raceway has a simple trap: two different badges can each have a 40% drop rate without becoming the same currency. If your goal is Megatron, trace the route to his Portraits rather than counting every emblem in your inventory together. Here is where racing ends and exchanging begins.

Raceway arrived in Part 2 of the Lords Mobile × Transformers collaboration with update 2.201 on September 1, 2026. This is a dated analysis of that September mechanic using IGG's information and a player's recording. Check your client for the availability of a particular stage or shop: an old video's timer does not show how much time remains today.

Start with Portraits, then consider laps

IGG's announcement identifies Megatron as a Leader Skin. Start by finding the skin's unlock requirement rather than expecting a new combat hero with Medals and separate development.

At about 1:45 in ED from Kansas City's recording, the Megatron screen shows 0 / 120 Portraits required to unlock. The icon beside the number matters: it does not mean 120 laps or 120 badges of any kind. This is the requirement in the recorded event version, rather than a promise that later events will use identical rules.

Check how many Portraits you already have and use the skin's details to find the source of the missing ones. A large stock of another currency does not answer how much you still need for Megatron. The original frame below places the unlock counter beneath the character. Open the frame at full size.

Two tracks use different badges

Section 73 of IGG's official probability page contains two separate tables. On the Normal Track, Bumblebee Badge has a 40% rate and Turbo Star has 26.70%. On the Wormhole Track, 40% belongs to Speed Badge. These are the source's item names, allowing you to compare the actual entries.

The limitation follows directly: the Bumblebee Badge rate cannot establish a 40% Speed Badge chance on the Normal Track. These entries have different conditions. Adding them into an 80% badge chance is also invalid: they are not two outcomes in one table.

That table alone does not state a Megatron Portrait's exchange price, the badge quantity per reward or the total cost of progressing through the modes. A single 40% entry therefore establishes neither a guaranteed result after ten races nor the skin's budget. The Champion Chest probability guide examines another case where the rate and its applicable set must be kept distinct.

Rest Stop and Depot are different shops

IGG associates Bumblebee Badges and Speed Badges with the Cybertron Rest Stop. In its description of the earlier collaboration phase, Cybertron Depot belongs to Cybertron Battlefield, a separate battlefield with quests, research and Insecticon Nests.

If you cannot see the reward you want, check the open shop's name first. Then read the item details: which currency it accepts, how many items each exchange provides and how many purchases remain. A similar Transformers emblem cannot replace those three checks.

Write a short chain: desired item → its source → required currency → missing quantity. Starting by asking where to spend everything you have makes it easier to buy several extras before discovering that the selected goal is out of reach.

Calculate what remains to reach the reward

Hypothetical arithmetic, not an in-game price: if unlocking needs 120 Portraits and you have 90, you need 30 more. If an exchange gives five Portraits, you need six exchanges. Then check two conditions: whether you have enough currency for all six and whether the shop's purchase limit permits them.

Compare claiming something with your existing resources against continuing the race for what is missing. In the second case, separate guaranteed rewards from random ones. Planned attempts are not Portraits already received, and another player's video total is not a fixed price for your account.

Reserve the currency needed for your goal before considering extras. If the complete reward path is unclear, inspect the item details first. Another race alone will not explain which resource you actually need.

Which timer actually matters?

IGG's update description directs players to the game for dates and rules. Check the Raceway screen and the exchange screen separately. Advertising for the overall collaboration does not establish that every activity is still available.

There is a specific date trap too: the community website lordsmobile.org listed September 30 as the GMT−5 expiry of promo code TFRACEWAY. That is not a confirmed Raceway end date. The site also states below the article that its posts are created by players.

Before your stage ends, open the target and check the remaining Portraits, currency, exchange limit and timer. That measures the race by the reward obtained rather than merely an attractive lap count.

Frequently asked questions

Does 40% mean four badges for every ten attempts?
No. The table gives the chance of a particular reward under the conditions of its track. It is neither a quota for a short series nor a statement of how many badges one reward provides.
