PUBG Mobile 4.7 beta: why the Thermal Protection Suit wears out

Satellites do not guarantee a suit, Blue Zone protection uses durability, and the item occupies your Ghillie Suit slot. How the beta rules differ from Tactical Shield.

Our PUBG Mobile 4.7 beta glyph guide explains Tactical Shield. The same update also introduces a Thermal Protection Suit for a separate mode, Erangel Subzero. It protects against Blue Zone damage while its durability lasts. Here is where to look for it and which restrictions are easy to miss.

This guide covers PUBG Mobile Global's Beta 2 rules, published on 10 October and rechecked on 21 October 2026. Erangel Subzero is described as a separate Classic Mode spin-off. Glyphs belong to the themed mode. Do not assume the shield and suit are a ready-made combination for a single match: the announcement does not confirm that. Test conditions may change before release.

Where to find the suit

The Thermal Protection Suit is an Erangel Subzero item obtained exclusively from a satellite. The rules describe a satellite crash as a special air drop that may contain the suit. May does not mean you are guaranteed to find one after every crash. The developer gives no drop probability.

Players receive advance notice before a satellite falls. Small Blue Zone devices fall with it and create local danger zones after landing. A valuable supply location can therefore bring its own environmental hazards. Do not build your route around the assumption that a suit will definitely be there.

Blue Zone protection consumes durability

The Blue Zone is a dangerous area where players take damage. Inside it, the suit grants immunity to Blue Zone damage by consuming its own durability. Once that durability is depleted, the protection ends. It is a limited reserve, not permission to stay outside the safe zone for the rest of the match.

The original frame shows the suit and interface bars. A single promotional sequence cannot establish how many seconds the item lasts: the announcement gives no exact durability capacity or consumption rate. Open the full-size original suit frame.

The practical implication is to keep planning a route to the safe zone and account for your remaining durability. Do not postpone leaving merely because you are wearing the suit. There is no supported promise that it will last through a particular number of zone phases; the source provides no such calculation.

It takes the Ghillie Suit slot

The item occupies the Ghillie Suit slot and cannot be worn at the same time as a Ghillie Suit. Picking it up therefore means choosing between those two pieces of equipment. This is a specific slot restriction; it does not establish that the thermal suit replaces or strengthens body armor.

How it differs from Tactical Shield

  • The Thermal Protection Suit is an item found in Erangel Subzero. Its confirmed protection concerns Blue Zone damage, and its limit is consumable durability.
  • Tactical Shield is a passive glyph in the themed mode. It automatically generates a shield when Health falls below a threshold. When downed, meaning wounded and waiting for help, a player can also use a small shield to block shots.
  • The glyph's level changes its trigger threshold, durability and duration. Do not transfer these parameters to the thermal suit: the item has a different acquisition method and its own effect description.

What to check before joining the test

  • Check the mode name: the announcement describes Erangel Subzero and themed glyphs separately.
  • Check the Beta Calendar in the Event Center: test timing and content can change.
  • Do not assume the suit protects against bullets, all cold effects or every damage type. The published rule confirms Blue Zone protection at the cost of durability.

This guide uses the official 4.7 Beta 2 rules and the original 10 October video. We have not tested the game client. Exact durability capacity, operating time, repair options, drop probability and final release rules are not confirmed here.
