Migration can cost your surplus: check Viking Rise storage

Prepare resources for a move: compare open stock with Warehouse protection, preserve bag chests and check automatic use in Quick Train.

Check open resources before Viking Rise migration: stock above Warehouse protection may be lost. Count bag items separately and do not open all of them to prepare. Our Quick Train automatic chest-use guide explains another part of the check: quick training may consume resources you set aside.

The bag and top bar are different reserves

At 04:15 in Orexyn’s 28 September 2026 recording, the bag’s Resources tab contains resource items and chests, while the top bar separately shows available food, lumber, stone and gold. Item count and resources obtained by using them are different units: 1K means one thousand in one item, while its counter counts items.

The author treats moving bag items separately from open stock. Do not use items in bulk just because you are relocating. Establish how much open resource you have and which action actually needs paying for. Record bag reserves intended for development after the move separately. Open the full original bag.

Check protection for each resource

The Warehouse table lists Protection separately per resource. At 05:40 the level-22 row shows Food Protection and Lumber Protection of 3,600,000 each, Stone Protection 3,000,000, and Gold Protection 2,600,000. One food-protection value cannot be applied to stone or gold.

The same frame’s top bar shows 9.5M food, where M means million. If the exact balance were 9.5 million, the amount above 3.6 million protection would be 5.9 million. This illustrates surplus arithmetic, not a measured player loss: abbreviated counters may round. Open your detailed balance and use your own Warehouse row.

Subtract each protection limit from that resource’s open balance separately. Below the limit, there is no positive surplus. The table increases protection at higher Warehouse levels, but upgrade cost and time also matter. Another player’s level 22 is not a migration-entry requirement. Open the Warehouse protection table.

Use surplus without sacrificing needed chests

Identify construction, research or training your city actually needs and compare its cost with open surplus. Preparation should direct resources into useful progress, not empty a counter at any cost or launch an unwanted operation for a neat zero.

Recheck the bag before Quick Train or Quick Promote. IGG’s 19 August version 1.5.140 description states that Choice Resource Boxes are used automatically when the corresponding resource items are insufficient. “I will only spend open surplus” therefore does not establish what a quick action actually consumes.

Choose the required amount, read the costs and record chest stock before confirming. Compare the bag and top bar after one useful operation. If it consumed reserves intended elsewhere, reconsider the next action’s size. Do not add speedups automatically: evaluate their cost and usefulness separately.

The final check before confirmation

Migration Info explicitly warns that resources exceeding Warehouse Protection Capacity will be lost. It is visible at 01:00 in Flóki918’s archived 2 July 2025 recording. This is primary game wording, not a new October change. The September guide illustrates the same preparation issue; compare the warning with your current event window. Open the complete archived warning.

Archived Migration Info tab: resources above Warehouse protection will be lost
Flóki918 archive, 2 July 2025, 01:00. Migration Info warns about surplus and some event data. Historical rules; check current conditions in your own window.

The same archived window separately says some event data and points may be lost and advises claiming rewards before migration. That does not mean every event resets. Read current notes and collect relevant available rewards early; recheck resource counters if those rewards change them.

A prepared resource budget does not itself unlock migration. Time-limited Migration moves between kingdoms under its own destination list and conditions. Check the period, target kingdom availability and current requirements separately. Another player’s recording cannot establish your pass count, next migration date or eligibility.

Before the last confirmation, save all four open balances, four protection values and relevant bag items. Compare the outcome afterwards. This article explains preparation using dated game screens; we did not migrate or test deductions on a game account. Your event’s exact cost and conditions must be checked in the client.
