Clavicus unlocks at Epic: what Legendary adds in WoR

Two thresholds in The Bone Diaries preview: what carries outside the mode with Clavicus, and which extra features have further requirements.

The early preview of The Bone Diaries names Epic rarity as the Clavicus unlock threshold. In the Notice Center explanation shown by Misstical on 21 October, Legendary belongs to a different requirement: additional features after completing Corpse Run. Here is what carries outside the mode and why the two conditions are easy to confuse. The early video’s exact server and version are unconfirmed.

Epic: the hero unlocks and progression carries over

Distinguish access to the adventure from unlocking the hero. The displayed description requires the second day after character creation or later and completion of Campaign stage N5-3 to enter The Bone Diaries. That is an entry requirement, not immediate availability of Clavicus for all other battles. When the mode appears, read its own requirements rather than applying a summoning banner’s conditions.

Point 4 describes fully unlocking Clavicus at Epic. Four types of progression then carry outside the mode: Soul Level, skill levels, Promotion Grade and rarity. Rarity is a category such as Epic or Legendary, not any increase in level. Check these fields separately to identify which requirement is met.

The description separates progression methods: Gravebone increases Soul Level, Altar of Valor upgrades skills, Malvira is named for Promotion Grade, and Altar of Souls for rarity. An increase in one does not imply an increase in the rest. If you want the hero unlocked, check rarity and the unlock wording specifically. The viewed excerpts do not show a complete priced route.

Legendary: another threshold, not an automatic reward

Additional Features lists two conditions together: complete Corpse Run and raise Clavicus to Legendary rarity. The listed extra features then unlock. This is an eligibility condition, not an explanation of how to obtain Legendary. It does not promise that completing Corpse Run once automatically grants a Legendary hero or finishes all progression.

One feature is Grimoire of the Dead, which progressively unlocks and upgrades extra enhancements. Soul Crystal and Animus are named for it. Retain those English names when checking the frame: the word Crystal does not mean ordinary summoning crystals will work. No specific prices appear here, so the line cannot establish a full budget or completion time.

A temporary helper is not another unlocked hero

The nearby Spirit Pact description allows temporary contracts with Embers using Tombshine. In this text, Embers are combat helpers for the mode. Their participation is explicitly limited to elite and boss battles inside The Bone Diaries. Do not extend Clavicus’s Epic carryover rule to these helpers: their temporary contract is a separate point.

Do not merge The Bone Diaries with Gadrien’s Tales and its encounter map. Clavicus’s early description has its own entry, rarity and pact conditions. A date or reward promised for another adventure does not establish this hero’s unlock time. Find the correct mode name first, then read its requirements.

What to check before spending materials

Open the current description on your server and compare three things: mode entry, the Epic unlock point and Legendary extra-feature conditions. Check Clavicus’s rarity and other progression fields next. Read the item name and exact action cost before spending. This distinguishes a missing prerequisite from trying to use a similar-looking but different material.

The official 23 October album shows several Clavicus appearances and his equipment, but no cost table, full sequence or per-server opening calendar. Early frames help distinguish thresholds; they do not confirm current balance for every account. Our separate official Epic Clavicus skill breakdown, released on 24 October, covers six hits, the 30% condition and the Talent cap. Copy counts, final Legendary skills and battle performance were not tested here.

The displayed description ties Epic to unlocking Clavicus and carrying over four progression types; Legendary plus Corpse Run unlocks additional features. Until final conditions are confirmed, use this as a checklist against your own client. This article includes no personally completed run or hero-strength measurement.
