PUBG Mobile Ocean Palace: leaving removes your special respawn

Heart of the Sea protection ends when you leave Ocean Palace. How it differs from a Respawn Card, and where to escape when the palace floods.

You can lose Ocean Palace's special respawn before another fight even starts: it disappears when you leave the area. The official Ocean Odyssey return announcement describes Heart of the Sea protection and the Respawn Card separately. Understanding the difference helps you judge which way back into the match is actually available.

The palace and its air pocket

Ocean Odyssey is a PUBG Mobile themed mode; Ocean Palace is its underwater palace beneath a huge statue. The English Global announcement dated 29 September 2026 specifies Erangel in Ranked Mode only. Its stated availability ends on 10 November 2026 at 20:59 UTC. Check other regional clients separately.

The Sea Suppressor maintains a barrier around the palace and creates an air pocket where players can move freely. That explains why you do not have to swim throughout the underwater location. The barrier does not establish permanent safety or protection from opponents.

Special protection, a card and a recall are separate

A respawn returns you to the match after elimination. Heart of the Sea grants a special respawn a certain period after you enter Ocean Palace. It applies when you are eliminated within the area, is available once per match and is lost when you leave the palace area. The announcement does not state the exact waiting time in seconds.

A Respawn Card is a separate item that may appear in Ocean Palace Crates. If it is still valid when used, it can return you to the battleground regardless of where you were eliminated. After you use a card, teammates can still recall you through a Recall Tower. Having one of these options does not prove that you also have the others.

Original rules from the 29 September 2026 Ocean Odyssey return announcement, captured on 12 October. Heart of the Sea and the Respawn Card are described separately.

The original Respawn Rules section lists both Heart of the Sea restrictions and the separate card condition. Open the full-size rules screenshot to read the small print on a phone. The explanation above covers the essential conditions.

For example, suppose you have gained the palace's protection, have not used it and decide to return to shore. Once you leave, that special respawn no longer covers your next fight. If you hold a valid Respawn Card, consider it separately. If your plan depends on a teammate recall, agree on that plan with your squad. Visiting the palace does not give you a spare life that stays active everywhere for the whole match.

What to do when the palace floods

The return announcement says the Kraken destroys the Sea Suppressor after some time, flooding Ocean Palace. It names two quick evacuation routes: a Portal and upflow currents. The announcement gives no exact destruction timer.

This separate historical frame shows a portal exit worth locating before the flood. Open the complete original portal frame. Control placement in your current client may differ.

Look for your route out while collecting supplies. Once the barrier is destroyed, staying for one last crate is risky. Evacuating and keeping protection are separate issues: leaving the area removes the special Heart of the Sea respawn. Account for that condition when choosing where to go next.

Three checks before your next fight

  • Which return option do you currently have: Heart of the Sea protection, a valid Respawn Card or a possible teammate recall?
  • Are you still inside Ocean Palace, or have you left the area covered by the special protection?
  • Do you know the nearest portal or upflow current to use if the palace starts flooding?

Return rules rechecked against the official announcement on 21 October 2026 for this English version. We have not tested the game client. The two gameplay frames come from Version 3.3 in 2024 and illustrate the palace and portal; the 2026 announcement supplies the return's respawn rules. Our separate guide covers the Stingray's restored Bubble skill and vehicle limits after the 16 October patch.
