RAID 11.80 Artifact Chests: did Dragon’s drops improve too?

The patch improved specific Artifact Chests. Check which ones, whether stored Inbox chests qualify and why the change does not establish better dungeon drops.

RAID 11.80 improved certain Artifact Chests. That release-note item did not announce higher drop rates after Dragon battles. Plarium’s Gear Overview explains sources, Rank and Rarity. Separate those concepts before spending Energy on an assumed drop improvement.

Which chests actually improved

The 8 October 2026 release notes for 11.80.0 name nine types. Use the full English item names to compare your chest with the list:

  • Dragon Artifact Chest, Ice Golem Artifact Chest and Fire Knight Artifact Chest.
  • Elite Dragon Artifact Chest, Elite Ice Golem Artifact Chest and Elite Fire Knight Artifact Chest.
  • Exquisite Artifact Chest, Magnificent Artifact Chest and Supreme Artifact Chest.

These chests received a higher chance of Artifacts with greater Rank and Rarity. The change includes chests already in the Inbox. An existing reserve is not automatically excluded.

The announcement gives no exact before-and-after percentages. “Higher chance” therefore cannot establish how many openings a particular item will take or promise a Legendary from the next chest.

Why this does not promise new Dragon drop rates

Dragon Artifact Chest names a chest; Dragon’s Lair names a dungeon. Sharing the word Dragon does not make them one reward source. When discussing drops, specify whether you mean opening an item or receiving a battle reward.

The release notes attach the improvement to the listed chests. They provide no basis for applying it to every Dragon, Ice Golem or Fire Knight run. Extra Energy spending based only on that assumption would rely on an unconfirmed premise.

Rank, Rarity and Level are separate checks

An Artifact is a Champion’s gear item, such as a Helmet or Weapon. Rank is shown by stars and affects stat values. Rarity determines how many substats are available initially. Level shows the item’s current upgrade progress.

The original example below labels Rank, Rarity and Level separately. Rare is its Rarity; +12 is its Level. A coloured Rarity label does not replace stars, and a high Level does not prove a high starting Rank.

Normal Artifact upgrades do not change Rank or Rarity. Relics work differently: their Rank can increase after reaching the Level cap. Do not transfer one item type’s rule to another.

Glyphs can enhance Artifact substats. Our separate guide explains why a Glyph can be consumed without an increase and how MAX works.

Before opening chests or spending resources

If you already own a chest: compare its full name with the list, then read its reward description and storage deadline in your client. The word “chest” alone does not establish that it is covered by this change.

If farming a dungeon: choose it for the sets you need and your team’s capabilities. This release-note item supplies no new numerical basis for recalculating expected loot per Energy.

After receiving an Artifact: assess its primary stat and substats for a specific Champion. Higher Rank or Rarity can help, but you still need to check whether the item fits your build.
