Sebastian in the field: why 40% ATK is not a constant bonus
Sebastian's attack bonus has a rally condition. Read the original skill cards to see which bonuses belong in an open-field comparison.

If you are choosing Sebastian for open-field combat, do not count the 40% ATK from the skill shown as Puppet's Aria in the Russian interface as a permanent advantage. Its description begins with during rallies. Our hero level and Battle skills guide explains why you should read the relevant card before upgrading. Here, we check the conditions that change how you assess this ranged hero.
Where the bonus condition appears
At 03:30 in Progref's video of 10 October 2026, the Russian-language skill card is open. It says that during rallies, the skill increases the Ranged Squad's ATK by 12% and damage dealt to Infantry Squads by 3%. ATK means attack. A rally is a joint squad attack; an independent open-field fight does not become a rally just because allies are fighting nearby.
The Upgrade Preview below lists 12/16/20/28/40% for ATK and 3/4/5/7/10% for damage to infantry. The 40% figure is the final value in the first row, not the selected current value of 12%. Increasing the amount does not remove the condition at the start of the description.
Another important detail: damage dealt to Infantry Squads identifies the target. It is not extra damage from your own infantry. When comparing two ranged heroes, record your bonus and the enemy troop type it affects separately. Open the original card at full size.

40% ATK does not mean 40% more final damage
The card promises an increase to a specific stat in a specific scenario. It neither gives the complete damage formula nor compares Sebastian with your current hero under identical troops, Armament and skills. You therefore cannot turn that line into a promise that the squad will deal 40% more damage.
For an initial open-field comparison, leave this rally-only bonus out of the always-active column. For rallies, check how the game applies the skill to your role and squad. These two cards do not establish how an assistant's bonuses transfer or whether they apply to every rally participant.
Read the other skills separately
The rally restriction does not switch off the entire hero. At 04:30, the video shows a different passive, whose Russian name translates as Ghostly Variation. Its description increases Ranged Squad defense by 9% and gives a 30% chance to restore HP when taking skill damage, with a Healing Factor of 900. HP means health. The preview separately shows defense up to 30% and Healing Factor up to 3,000. These English translations identify the Russian cards, rather than claiming verified English client names.
Healing has another restriction: the effect can trigger at most once every six seconds. That is a frequency limit, not a schedule of guaranteed healing. The squad must take skill damage and the chance must then trigger. A factor of 900 or 3,000 is not by itself a count of healed troops. Open the original card at full size.

Reading each card this way helps assess the hero's role: a conditional rally bonus, defense and chance-based recovery answer different questions. Applying a neighboring card's condition to every skill is as misleading as ignoring a skill's own condition.
What to check before spending fragments
Write down your scenario first: independent open-field combat or a rally. Open every relevant Battle skill and compare the selected values with the Upgrade Preview. Compare heroes at the same development level and with the same squad. A large number in the final preview row does not prove your current hero already provides it.
The original screens show 0/10 fragments beside Sebastian's recruitment. This is a description preview, not proof of recruitment or availability to every player. Check recruitment and the current description in your own client. If allied support is also part of your decision, our Valeria healing guide explains why recovery for five allies also depends on the battle mode.
The original review was made on 13 October 2026 from published game footage. The recording date and client version are unspecified; we did not run our own combat test. These cards help eliminate one mistaken reason to invest: expecting a constant 40% ATK in the field. Choosing the best pair and measuring healing need a separate comparable test.
